After graduating with honors from Kazan State Medical University & completion of Clinical Ophthalmology Residency (1987) and Highest Clinical (ophthalmic surgery) Residency (1993) in Russia, I practiced eye surgery for 23 years. Within the same timeframe, I worked as a consultant in the Neurology Department at Hospital #6 and on a part-time basis, in the Military Hospital as an ophthalmic surgeon, & teaching Clinical Ophthalmology at Kazan Medical College.
After moving to the US, I taught Anatomy & Physiology at Missouri State University and Missouri Southern State University. Since July 2022, I have been working as an assistant professor at the Department of Pathology & Anatomical Sciences. My teaching responsibilities include Special senses (eye & ear) histology and normal anatomy, neuroanatomy, Eye and neuropathology, Anatomical Imaging & Diagnostics, and Anatomy laboratory.
Research interest includes ophthalmology and neuropathology.
