Dr. Dugan joined OSI after graduating from the orthopedic surgery residency program through St. Mary’s Medical Center/Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, and working with the surgeons at OSI. He earned his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine, and his bachelor of science degree from Northwest Missouri State University.

He enjoys the variety of practicing general orthopedics and values the relationships he has with his patients, and the trust they put in him. He performs hip, shoulder, and knee arthroscopy, total joint replacements (including anterior hip), and general fracture care. He also cares for high school and college athletes who have experienced sports injuries, as well as weekend warriors.

Dr. Dugan developed an interest in the treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of sports injuries as a high school and college athlete. He played baseball at Oak Park High School in Kansas City, and college baseball at Northwest Missouri State University, NCAA Division II. During his athletic career, he received a number of academic/athletic honors.

Dr. Dugan is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery. In fact, he had the top score in the nation on the AOBOS orthopedic surgery written board exam for his residency graduation year, 2014. He also is an assistant professor of surgery with the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences.

In addition to practicing medicine, Dr. Dugan enjoys fishing, shooting, boating, and spending time with his wife, Carrie, and their twin boys.
