Esperanza Anaya, PhD

Esperanza Anaya is an Assistant Program Director and Associate Professor for the Health Service Psychology Program at Kansas City University. She received her Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from Indiana University. Dr. Anaya teaches a variety of courses, such as History & Systems, Research Methodology, and Cognitive-Affective Bases of Behavior. Since entering higher education, she has worked to create an inclusive work place and learning environment at the programmatic and university level.  She co-presented at the National Council of Schools and Programs of Professional Psychology on the topic of “Promoting Inclusive Excellence in Graduate Programs: Students, Faculty and Staff”.  Esperanza’s current research focuses on identifying academic resources that would aid in the retention of underrepresented students in higher education.
