Beth Epley, PsyD, is the Director of Counseling Services at Kansas City University, where she has served students over the past six years. She is passionate about addressing the mental health needs of future physicians and other graduate students pursuing a health science path. Prior to her time at KCU, Dr. Epley was the Director of Counseling Services at William Jewell College for nine years. Earlier work, in two urban hospitals and a regional forensic facility, included treatment of adults and teens with trauma and severe mental illness. Dr. Epley earned her doctoral degree at Forest Institute of Professional Psychology. She lives with her husband, teenage son, two dogs, and two cats in a 140-year-old house in Liberty, MO. When she is out of the office, she practices self-care by reading fiction, meditating, watching documentaries, and singing in a small choral ensemble.
