Supervision: Managing Difficult Behaviors and Mentoring in the Clinical Setting


The Clinical Learning Environmental Review CLER, perspective is to provide residents and patients with mechanisms to raise supervision concerns. It also recommends a continuously monitoring supervision to implement actions that enhance patient safety.

Effectiveness, progressive autonomy, roles, and fostering a non-punitive culture to report supervision concerns are the main objectives that this presentation will address, when managing difficult behaviors and mentoring in the clinical setting for medical graduates.
